Any Epstein (16), vem da Califórnia, nos Estados Unidos e Max Goldbeck é alemão e está no colégio desde o ano passado. Eles são apenas os primeiros a chegar em 2007.

O Colégio Integrado Jaó recebeu a qualificação de "International School" por vários motivos. Primeiro pelos convênios com escolas de outros países o que proporciona bolsas de estudos aos nossos alunos. Uma exclusividade. Segundo pelo fato de que os estrangeiros que vêm para o Integrado recebem tratamento diferenciado, inclusive com aulas de Português Instrumental (foto à esquerda). Além disso mantém parcerias com entidades como o AFS e a AYUSA tanto para receber quanto para enviar alunos.

Além de incentivar e promover o intercâmbio cultural de nossos alunos e receber anualmente dezenas de alunos de outros países, o Integrado Jaó incentiva, valoriza e investe no ensino de línguas estrangeiras, especialmente inglês. Temos uma unidade, dentro de nossas dependências, do conceituado curso de línguas do CNA com salas de todos os níveis, excelentes instalações e o único em Goiás com autorização para certificações internacionais.

Als ich vor sieben Monaten, am 4.August 2006 hier in Goiania angekommen bin, waralles neu fuer mich.Ich kannte niemanden, wusste nicht wie es sich mit der Kultur verhaelt, und wasich ueberhaupt machen sollte!Der erste Schultag war sehr aufregend, alle Augen waren auf mich gerichtet undviele der Leute kamen auf mich zu und fingen an Fragen zu stellen. Das war eine echte Hilfe, weil es am Anfang schwierig ist ein Gespraech anzufangen,parwenn man die Sprache und die Leute nicht kennt.Im ersten Monat war es ingesamt echt hart, die neue Sprache, das neue Essen, dieneuen Leuten, die neue Familie und all das zu verarbeiten.Deswegen war ich auch regelmaessig muede.Das Essen war fuer mich keine besondere Schwierigkeit, nur dass in Brasilienjeden Tag das Gleiche gegessen wird, mit minimalen Veraenderungen, war gewoehnungsbeduerftig.Eine der wichtigsten Sachen ist, dass man als Austauschschueler selbst dieInitiative ergreift und die Menschen Sachen fragt und einfach versucht insGespraech zu kommen.Vor allem sollte man am Anfang so viele Einladungen, zu Festen oderGrillabenden, wie moeglich annehmen, weil man einfach einen Kontakt aufbaenmuss.Ich persoenlich hatte totales Glueck mit meiner Familie, die mich sehr herzlichund freundlich empfangen hat. Ich fuehle mich wie ein Sohn von ihnen.Durch die Unterstuetzung der Familie war es fuer mich sehr viel leichter dieSprache und die Kultur kennenzulernen.Nachdem ich denn einige Freunde gefunden, und hier Fuss gefasst hatte, fing ichan den Austausch zu geniessen.Wenn man erst einmal angefangen hat sich wohlzufuehlen, vergeht die Zeit totalschnell und man will gar nicht wieder nach Hause.

My name is Alexa and i'm from New Zealand. I have been here for just over onemonth, and enjoying it here very much. I travelled to Minacu for Carnaval, and it was so much fun! It was prettymuch a 4 day party, and you meet so many cool people! My first day of school was really scary because i didn't know know anyone orspeak any portugues. But the students are so friendly and kind to me, and now Ihave many new friends. I love my family, they are so kind to me, and have made me apart of theirfamily. So i now have a second family, and a place to call home. :)

Seit dem 04.08.2006 nehme ich an einem Schueleraustausch hier in Brasilienteil.Als ich hier in Goiania (Grossstadt im Zentrum Brasiliens gelegen) ankam,war natuerlich erst einmal alles anders als gewohnt: eine andere Sprache, eineandere Kultur, und einfach ganz andere Menschen. Vom landestypischen Esseneinmal ganz abgesehen ;) .Ich lebte mich allerdings mithilfe meiner Gastfamilie, die laengst mehr als"nur" meine Gastfamilie geworden ist, sehr schnell in Brasilien ein. Das dieBrasilianer in der Regel sehr, sehr offene Menschen sind, die stets interessiertan fremden Kulturen und Menschen interessiert sind, hat vor allem am Anfangunheimlich geholfen.Auch das "Intergrado Jao, hat mir erstens, durch den Portugiesischunterricht, sehr mit den anfaenglichen Sprachproblemen geholfen (ich sprach als ich ankam keine 3 Woerter poretugiesisch), und zweitens wurde durch die Schule das wichtige Freunde finden und Kontakte machen, sowohl mit Schuelern, als auch mit den unglaublich "coolen" Lehrern, deutlich erleichtert.Dier ersten zwei Monate waren trotz allem nicht einfach, aber nach dieser etwasschwierigeren Anfangszeit, wurde alles leichter: die Sprache wurde einfacher,natuerlicher, die fremde Kultur war laengst nicht mehr fremd und selbst an daslandestypische Essen (Reis und Bohnen - jeden Tag!!!) habe ich mich nicht nurgewoehnt, sondern vermisse es sogar, wenn es mal nicht auf der Speisekartesteht...Nach sieben Monaten kann ich sagen, dass ich mich in Brasilien, mit seinenwunderbaren Menschen verliebt habe. In vier Monaten geht es zurueck nachDeutschland... Was ich von Brasilien mitnehmen werde? Ein Jahr voll mit tollenErfahrungen und Erinnerungen und mit Sicherheit einen Koffer voll Sehnsucht...Das Geld fuer die naechste Brasilienreise ist schon gespart, ob ich das naechsteMal auch wieder nach Deutschland zurueckfliegen werde? Das vermag ich nicht zusagen...

Hi, my name is Anya Epstein, I'm 16 years old, and I'mfrom the United States, California to be exact. I came to Brazil a little over amonth ago as a foreign exchange student. So far, everything has been great. I amliving in Goiania, and the city is absolutely beautiful. Nothing like what youwould see in America, and I go to Integrado Jao. Everyone has been reallyhelpful, both my family at home and the faculty at school. They've been sowelcoming and make me feel right at home. The teachers are great, they are allreally funny and nice. People here in general are very nice and welcoming. To be able to come to a different country and experience a whole different lifestyle is something that most people don't ever get to do.Just to go somewhere that puts you outside of your safety bubble will affect theway you live and think about other people and new concepts for the rest of yourlife. It really opens your eyes to the fact that there are other cultures andcustoms that are not bad or weird, just different. To be able to go somewhereaway from your home and the customs and routines that you are used to willexpand your horizon immensely and change your life forever. It really makes youstop and look at something new for what it is and not just judge it by firstappearances. It forces you to come to terms with differences in people and trulybe able to accept them.

I have been here for 6 weeks now and I am loving it!The school here is so beautiful along with the teachers and students, they areall so kind and welcoming it makes it so much fun to be here and so easy to fitin! line I love my host family, they are so lovely I never want to leave, theyhave really helped me settle into school and into everyday life here in Brasil!Some of the best things about being here in Brasil are the people, the culture,all the dancing and the beautiful food, the wonderful weather and magnificentfootball! line It is such a lovely place, this is a once in a life timeopportunity and I am so happy that I been given this opportunity and am havingsuch wonderful experiences and learning so much, this exchange is changing mefor the better! Mun nimi on Satu Leonsaari, ma oon seitsemantoistavuotias jakotoisin Suomesta. Ma kirjoitan tata tekstia Colegio Integrado Jaosta, munkoulusta taalla Goiania-nimisessa kaupungissa Brasiliassa, missa ma parhaillaanvietan vaihto-oppilasvuotta. Ma oon ollut taalla vajaat 7 kuukautta ja viela onjaljella 4 kuukautta ennen kuin ma palaan koti-Suomeen heinakuun alussa. Munvaihto-oppilasvuosi on ollut tahan mennessa ihan taydellinen, enka vaihtaisiyhtakaan kokemusta pois. Portugalin kieli, mista en aluksi ymmartanytainoatakaan sanaa sujuu jo sen kummempia edes ajattelematta ja tamanlatinalaiskulttuurin oudoimmatkin tavat tuntuu nyt ihan normaaleilta. Oon saanuttosi paljon kavereita, tavannut ihania ihmisia, joita en varmasti koskaan unohdaja mun isantaperhekin tuntuu ihan oikealta perheelta, eika miltaanlainaperheelta, jonka unohdan heti Suomeen palattua. Valilla kun joku kysyy,etta onko mulla kauhea koti-ikava, niin tekisi mieli kysya, etta miksi ihmeessamulla olisi koti-ikava kun ma olen kotona. Hoje, Fernanda faz UEG, Braz ainda está no colégio, Sérgio faz Engenharia da Computação na UFSC, Rayane também passou na primeira fase da Fuvest e Aline (de camisa verde) foi aprovada na FGV (Fundação Getúlio Vargas), todos em 2007. O Integrado Jaó é certificado internacionalmente como colégio de padrão internacional e o único no país a ter convênio direto com uma escola na Nova Zelândia para onde envia alunos anualmente (inclusive com bolsas de estudo) assim como recebe seus alunos no Brasil. A turma de 2007 partiu em 28 de janeiro.

Arão Mathias e João Marcos Fonseca participam de outro intercâmbio promovido pelo colégio através de parceria com o INSA (Instituto Nacional de Ciências Aplicadas) de Toulouse, na França.
Nos dois primeiros anos eles cursam a Universidade do Porto o básico e nos três últimos vão para a França onde fazem a especialização em um dos sete tipos de engenharia oferecido pelo instituto que é um dos mais conceituados do mundo. Só o Integrado Jaó faz isso por seus alunos. Na foto Arão e J. Marcos estão em frente a Unv. do Porto.

O time de futebol feminino da Hagley Community College posa no Clube Jaó onde veio para um torneio exclusivo com o Colégio Integrado Jaó.
O torneio teve três jogos, o último deles no Estádio Olímpico (hoje em reformas) quando o Integrado Jaó se sagrou campeão.
Ao todo, 18 jogadoras neozelandesas participaram da viagem e dos jogos.

Dear Friends
The words that best would describe my first day in school is ”Scary and Nervouse”.

Just imagine, nothing is alike, the enviroment was so exotic, mango growing on the trees, tucano birds flying free, I even saw monkeys in the trees ! For me this was a djungle, and a beautiful one. And of course to see all this new people, everyone looking diffrent from what I am use to... and I could tell I too was looking diffrent, judging by their looks. For me it was just to observe and learn how your way was and from that getting to know you, maybe I even came off as shy, wich is the totally opposite. Anyway I appreciated your efforts to make me feel welcome, I surely did.

And yehe..rsrsrs.. the first lession I really remember, was with the history teacher, so crasy and funny...I was terrified! Asking strange question about sweden through Bruno that translated into english, thanks a lot ! How to react?? I learned that the realation with teachers in Brasil often are more open and more friendly than in Sweden. Sometimes it's like this here too, but often it's strictly an adult person learning a student the subject, nothing more nothing less.(should import some teachers from Brasil...rsrsrs)

Now I started to think about salgados, que saudades ! If I could I would also import that, alot! The same goes for acai...or emroladinho de queijo, pão de queijo, acerola, graviola, mangioca, acarajé, arroz e feijão (never thought I would miss that! I remember thinking; why do they eat it everyday? Where is the variation??...rsrssr) [aqua da boca]

But as the days went by, the diffrent things became familiar, the people became friends and everyday was a day ready to be discovered. So many trips i did ! Went to Pirinopolis on ”Canto da Primavera” and felt the magic of this unic city with it's waterfalls, hippies and live music. Fica in Goias Velho, the hot springs in Caldas Novas, the 1 month long ”Northeast trip” that almost covered all the coast cities and of course the carnaval in Salvador that words is'nt enough to explain how amazing it was! You live in a such a beautiful and colorful contry and even if there things that can improve, concerning poverty and government, you are lucky to be apart of it :D

I think I can speak for all the exchangestudents when I say, that we miss you all so very very much!

The schoolbus driver that always was so happy, or the teachers just making it fun watching them teach or Sonia the best portuguse teacher ever that became our dear friend(she put up with alot from us, but we did it all from the kindness of our hearts. Against all odds, you can say with confidence ”mission compleated”, we all learned portuguse well ! :) . And especially all you people beeing our friends and showing how a real brasilian is like :D we love u !

Now nearly 3 months after, I stop sometimes and remeber you all, smiling and thinking that it was such long time ago, another life, and maybe it was. But Brasil became my second home and i will treasure it forever. Agora só preciso aprender viver com a saudade."
